Just got backfrom the swimming with the kids at the YMCA. If my wet hair doesn’t drip on the laptop and short something out, I’ll participate in Fred McKinnon’s Sunday Setlist Extravaganza.
The setlist today at GracePoint was pretty solid.
- My Glorious by Delirious? (and yes the question mark is part of the band name… it does not indicate that I’m unsure who originally performed the song)
- We Shine by Fee
- You Never Let Go by Matt Redman
- Sing to the King by BIlly James Foote/Passion
- Song of Hope by Robbie Seay Band (offering)
It was my week to run sound, so no playing for me today.
My Glorious was new this week. Great song. Unfortunately, like a lot of Delrious? songs, you’re tempted to sing it with a cool English accent.
We Shine is one of our current favorites. Fee writes some great songs. It was also the exit song for both services. If you were lucky enough to sting around after the second service, you got to see Gil turn red and nearly black out yelling out the last note of the song. It was impressive.
You Never Let Go is another favorite. Easy to play on guitar too, which is a plus for me…
Sing to the King was unveiled for the first time a few weeks ago. This song was made for Christina’s voice. Very powerful lyrics. I can’t help but clap at the line “We’ll join in singing with all the redeemed. ‘Cause Satan is vanquished and my Jesus is King!”
Song of Hope is also fairly new to GP. Rod was killing the keys on this one.
Congratulations, if you made it reading this far!
I’d be curious to hear from some other GP’ers. Let me know what you thought.

Since I’ve been tagged twice lately, by Kevin and Andrea, I figured it was time to play along.
Here are the rules:
- Link to the person who tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- Write 6 random things about yourself.
- Tag 6-ish people at the end of your post.
- Let each person know he/she has been tagged.
- Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
Random facts about me:
- I played the cello in 4th thru 6th grade. I’d love to take it up again, because it is still my favorite instrument.
- I used to own a red 79 Corvette, hence my email address… red79vette@… Fun car, but the repairs were draining my savings. I sold it and bought Andrea a minivan two days later.
- My first date with Andrea was the result of a lie by a friend of ours trying to set us up.
- I’m a generalist. I’d rather know a little bit about everything, than a lot about a few things.
- I wish I was a better singer. I’ve even considered taking voice lessons.
- Chain emails annoy me.
Unfortunately, most of the bloggers I follow have been tagged recently so I don’t think I can come up with six.
David, Cody, Terry - you’ve been tagged.

The only thing better than getting free stuff is winning free stuff!
I had completely forgotten that Joel Klampert was having a little contest. But today I discovered that I was one of the winners of his Ultimate Link Love Recovery contest. It appears that I’ll be getting some free goodies from Integrity Music in the mail.
I can’t wait!
I’d like to begin by thanking my mom and dad for never giving up on me. I’d like to thank my beautiful wife Andrea for allowing me to spend all that time on her laptop. I’d also like to thank my cat Toffee for not puking up her dinner tonight. But mostly, I just want to thank all of you for believing in me. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Since my blogging hiatus is officially over, I thought I’d participate in Fred McKinnon’s Sunday Setlist mania. So here goes…
Today’s setlist at GracePoint:
- Understand by Jeremy Camp (pre-service walk in song)
- Break Free by Hillsong
- I Am Free by Desperation Band/Newsboys
- Your Grace is Enough by Chris Tomlin
- Salvation is Here by Hillsong
- Rise Above This by Seether (offering)
It was a fun Sunday. I pulled out my Breedlove acoustic mandolin this week, and I realized just how much more hand strength it takes to play than my electric. I’ve barely touched it in the last 6 months and it shows. My left hand is still sore from this morning.
Today was a no-practice week, due to a scheduling conflict. But it turned out pretty good anyway. The songs were fairly familiar to everyone, and everyone playing this week has been around a while. That being said… I had never actually played Salvation is Here or Rise Above This before.
That’s particularly surprising considering that this was the sixth time we’ve used Salvation is Here in church according to Planning Center Online. You may (or may not) recall that I even blogged about the song back in April…
It’s really a treat to get to play with such talented musicians. Next week it’s back to the FOH mixer.

Hello. My name is Ronnie. It’s been 2 weeks and 1 day since my last post.
It’s funny… After struggling to come up with material for the last month or so, I kept finding myself wanting to blog about stuff these last two weeks.
So here I am.
I’ve decided to keep blogging.
I’ve also decided that Share-it Saturday will no longer be a regular feature. I felt obligated (for some stupid, self-imposed reason) to keep it going. But not anymore.
I’m also not going to worry about trying to meet an arbitrary quote on weekly posts. I’m going to post when I feel like it. It may be one time this week, and eight times next week. Who knows?
Neil Greathouse had a great post last month about blogging that has crossed my mind on several occasions. Like Neil’s blog, “From the Mind of MandoRon” was started as a creative outlet for me. Period. End of story.
Sometimes a time of refocusing can be a good thing.
I saw a kid at church today with an awesome t-shirt from the Family Guy. It said “Sarcasm is just another free service I offer.”
Let the sarcasm begin!
