I should look into doing some U2. For a while before I got here our worship team did alot of apologetix type songs for worship, for the past few years since I have been here I kinda went way the other direction using "secular" songs. Unfortunately that means I have refrained from using some great songs that aren't praise and worship. I should look into working some songs back in. Thanks.

We occasionally use a common walk-in song for an entire series. Especially if ties in well to the theme. I think we've only done it a few times though... maybe three times. Usually it rotates between songs that fit the theme, or just random.

Wow! Seven keyboards!! That must be sweet.
Great idea with "Elevation" as a walk in!
So do you guys pick a walk-in song for each series and stick with it until the series is complete? I like that concept!

Awesome set Ron - and electric mandolin. Would love that and your programming passion/ability as part of my team :-) I'll get praying harder now.

I'm surprised you had a comment about Hosanna being hard to sing - it was one of those instant songs in my church. And yeah - Let God Arise is great. I need to rest it for a while before it burns out though :)

I love the thematic value with Elevation. Familiar for everyone to connect to. Great set.

There's no competing with Deric's trash-can cymbal, that thing has YEARS of character in it. Not to mention he finds the perfect time of when to use it! I do have to admit though, I absolutely enjoy the rivets and the sound the new Wuhan delivers. Half-time grooves will never be the same :-) What an absolutely fun Sunday.. the songs were powerful and the spirit was moving!

I prefer Tomlin's quieter stuff, but Let God Arise is a keeper.

Thanks for posting. All this U2 stuff...I'm going to have to start listening and learning... ;)

Oh. I forgot to add that Denny was sporting a new China cymbal. Rivets on it and everything. It sounded awesome. I guess he was trying to compete with Deric's patent-pending trashcan cymbal.

Wow, that's quite a set. Interesting choice for your walk-in...we need to do more U2 in our church. Thanks for posting this...I love seeing how the rest of the body of Christ is worshiping each week. Keep up the good work.
