Doubleneck Hackjob
My friend Tommy sent me a link today to a Craig’s list ad with a double-neck mandolin/guitar. Someone took an Epiphone mandolin and an Epiphone guitar, then did a little reversesiamesetwin surgery on them. Only $400…
Here’s two of the photos.

If you’re interested in seeing some real double-neck mandolins, check out the double-neck eye candy page on MandolinCafe.com.
For some double-neck music…check out this video of “Karla with a K” by a band whose name is being blocked by Internet filter…
Or for something really cool… check out John Paul Jones performing the “Triple Neck Song”.

This Epiphone-this has been my dream to do this-I wonder how it sounded? I do alot of overseas mission trips and also do/play outreach here in OC and would love to have both guitar and mando together. I read that Manson, builder of J P Jones triple neck, would have built it different saying that the mandolin just sounded like a smaller guitar. I would love to buy a used Collings MT and a beat up D18 and have it inlayed something just like this!
I get to play mandolin and cello in worship-a great blessing!
