    Sunday Setlist … February 22, 2009

disco-ballsToday at GracePoint, was the last week of the Crazy Love series.  The last week of the disco ball.  The last week of crazy disco songs…

It was also one of those rare days when I get to sit with my wife, and worship with everyone else.

    The setlist:

    • Deeper by Delirious
    • Sing to the King by Billy James Foote/Passion
    • Bless the Lord by Shaun Groves
    • I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
    • Come on Back to Me by Third Day (offering)
    • Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen (exit)

Just a few comments…  Bless the Lord showed up as an offering song a few weeks ago. I’m not familiar with Shaun Grove’s stuff, but I really like this one.

If you missed I Will Survive performed as a duet by Christina in an afro and Gil (Gilina?) in a blonde wig, then you really missed out.  It was a sight!  Enjoyable even.  Great job everyone.

You guys have so much fun with your series. I don’t know how your going to top Disco!
      Queen in church that’s awesome!

haha! Too funny. would have loved to seen the transition from Bless the Lord (one of my personal favorites) to I will Survive! Too funny

    3. Ronnie says:

      The transition was not subtle…

The curtains closed on the band (we meet in a middle school auditorium). The pastor prays and gives announcements while the band does a quick wardrobe change. After the band gives the appropriate signal (ka-kaw!), the pastor gets everyone back on their feet and the curtains open.

Steff - I figure it’s probably better not to try and top the disco.

I have to agree… That was my first time playing Bless The Lord and it has become a favorite. It has a very subtle groove and if you allow it, lots of transition. The lyrics are outstanding; I found myslef lost listening to them in the last set. I hope it shows again, as I’d like to spend a little more time “in the poket”, so to speak.
