Sunday Setlist … April 26, 2009
Good afternoon, and welcome to the Spring Thunderstorm edition of Sunday Setlist. Here you’ll find my recap of the music at GracePoint Community Church. You can check out more setlists over at Fred’s Sunday Setlist Blog Carnival.
Week 3 of the “Rockstar: Making Him Famous” series was jam-packed with great music. It was the most fun that I’ve had mixing sound in a while. Everything went pretty smoothly, and the band was smoking hot.
- So What by Pink (walk-in)
- Let God Arise by Chris Tomlin
- No More No Less by MercyMe
- God With Us by MercyMe
- Rockstar by Nickelback
- Drifter by DecemberRadio (prayer time)
- My Glorious by Delirious (offering)
- I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett (encore)
So What was a fun song to open things up with. Christina rocked the vocals. (The lyrics were of course a little more church-appropriate…)
Let God Arise is my favorite Tomlin tune, and is great for some rockin’ worship.
No More No Less is a good one from MercyMe. When Christina sings it (like this morning), we change the chorus to “I am just the one” instead of “I am just a man”… I like this song better in the offering slot than as a worship song, but that’s just me…
God With Us is currently on my list of favorite worship tunes. It was just recently introduced at GP, althought it had been talked about for a while.
Rockstar … the best part of this song was Terry Johnson dressed up as ZZ Top. Mike told me to add some vocal effects so that he’d sound like Nickelback… Not really possible dude.
Drifter hasn’t shown up in a while. It made a nice backdrop to the prayer time.
My Glorious is an awesome song from Delirious. I’d like it to show up more often.
I Love Rock and Roll … Christina brought the house down for the encore.
The band: one male and one female vocalist (plus a special appearance by Terry…), two electric guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums.
Have an awesome week!

Your stage looks totally awesome! But then I’m not surprised! Have a great week!
