From the Mind of MandoRon

Sorry, I haven’t posted much lately.  We’ve been on a family roadtrip for over a week now, and I guess I’ve just been having too much fun…

Some highlights of the trip so far…

We finally met our niece, Kaelynn, who lives in Social Circle, Georgia.  She’s a cutie!

The St Louis Zoo. If you ever get a chance, go! I wish we could have spent more time there.

Stone Mountain, Georgia. I took this picture of downtown Atlanta from the top of Stone Mountain.

While swimming at the St Simons Island (Georgia) beach, some dolphins came within about 20 feet of us.  Unfortunately, the camera batteries had died by then… You’ll have to settle for a picture of Jett and Jada.

While on St Simons Island, I had breakfast with the one, and only, Fred McKinnon.  It was great to finally meet him in person.  What a great guy.  He introduced me to Sweet Mama’s infamous “pork pops”.  Good stuff!  I completely forgot to take a picture, though…

We saw several alligators in the Okefenokee Swamp.  I want to go back sometime and take a boat tour or go on a canoe trip…

That’s the highlights, I’ll probably post more in a few days.

Jada recently wrote this poem about our dog. She also drew this picture of Andrea walking Bullet to go with the poem.  I thought I would share.

Bullet

Bullet is a good dog and a food dog.

Bullet is a fun dog, a run dog, and a lay-in-the-sun dog.

Bullet is a toy and a boy dog.

I love Bullet and he loves me.

If he loves me, I bet he will love you too.

Bullet is a FUN dog,

And a tired dog.

Thanks for posting this Fred.

I took the kids shopping for Mother’s Day gifts last night.  I stumbled across the perfect gift for the wife of MandoRon… Her very own mandolin!

It would be perfect!  She loves to cook.  She could be slicing up vegetables for dinner on her mandolin, while I play Italian love songs on my mandolin.

But alas… she prefers to chop by hand…
